The TOTO Prize Structure: Here’s How It Works

The TOTO Prize Structure: Here’s How It Works

You win a prize in playing TOTO when at least three numbers you chose match any numbers drawn. The more the matching numbers, the more the cash prize won.

Key Elements

There are 7 different prize categories in the TOTO results. Group 1 winners take the first prize and Group 7 the least. When there are multiple winners in any category, they get to share the prize.

Snowballing

If there are no winners in groups 1 to 4, the cash prize is added to the next draw’s amount within the same group. Group 1 prizes “snowball” up to the fourth draw, while Groups 2,3, and 4 prizes snowball until a player wins.

Cascades

These are draws that take place after four consecutive draws without a Group 1 Prize Winner. In the event of such, the final jackpot will include the 4th draw amount (38% of the prize pool) plus the total amount snowballed from the other 3 draws.

Since there is no Group 1 winner, the prize is shared equally among the winners of the next group.

Prizes

Prize Pool; The prize pool in the TOTO prize structure consists of the money collected for that draw. 54% of this cash collected is allocated towards the prize pool.

Prize Group Numbers Matched Prize Amount
Group 1 (Jackpot) 6 Winning Numbers 38% of prize pool

(Minimum Guaranteed Amount of $1,000,000)

Group 2 5 Winning Numbers + Additional Number 8% of prize pool
Group 3 5 Winning Numbers 5.5% of prize pool
Group 4 4 Winning Numbers + Additional Number 3% of prize pool
Group 5 4 Winning Numbers $50
Group 6 3 Winning Numbers + Additional Number $25
Group 7 3 Winning Numbers $10

The Jackpot prize has a minimum guaranteed amount of $1,000,000, but prize groups 2,3 and 4 do not have a minimum guaranteed amount.

When there are many winners from group 1 to group 4, they all share the prize allocation for that group, including snowballed amounts.

All numbers that match with the drawn winning numbers are referred to as a winning combination.

Every winning combination of numbers is entitled to a winning share in the different prize groups. So, if there are 4,000 people with winning shares in Group 7, there is S$40,000 for each of them to take S$10.

Similarly, if 2 people have winning shares in Group 1, and the jackpot is S$12,000,000, each of them takes S$6,000,000.

Ordinary and System Bet Prizes

If you bet under the ordinary entry or the System 7-12, here is how the prizes are allocated.

TOTO prize structure

So, your TOTO prize depends on how many winning combinations you have and in which system you bet in. As seen in the table, the higher the system entry, the more chances you have of winning big, even in Group 4.

On the other hand, players who use ordinary entry have fewer chances of winning in the higher groups. The chances of an ordinary entry winning a Group 1 prize is 1 in 14 million.

System Roll

When you bet with the system roll, here is how the game allocates prizes. It is slightly similar to the ordinary bet entry.

TOTO prize structure

You are guaranteed at least $10 if you bet on at least 3 winning numbers. As shown above, you have to bet higher (e.g., system 12 entry) to increase your chances of winning TOTO jackpot prizes.
